The TCBM glides on an air cushion, whether officially using the GES (and thus able to go almost twice as fast and up to a single hex off the ground at will) or "walking" (and thus confined to "normal" running/jumping/etc.) Shields: Location Class Type DA SP DC Absorp. With two of the bloody things, it's even more evil. But, it acts like an EMW, so it's built like an EMW. This is called "Gettin' Funky", but the special musical theme of the previous Boogie Machine versions has been replaced by a modified sound sample from a buzz saw mixed with a moose call and ominous moaning wind. The activation phrase is "Tax time, baby!", and gets played over the general/exterior sounds channel. The normal axes are Thrown/Returning and Armor Piercing, the EMW axes are x10 scale (-40 SP), Quick, Hyper, and, of course, Rechargeable. They are cross-linked, and have been nominated for Most Evil Melee Weapon in the Universe. The axes join at the handles to be thrown, and can be used either joined or seperate as desired, though it makes no difference as far as game mechanics are concerned. Hands are Quick and Handy, as per the usual. M00ssiles: The head of the hecha looks like a moose with six points on each antler, which can be fired as countermissiles. They have a blast radius of 1 hex. The activation phrase is "Bl00p!" The chevron cannon fires from a slit over the GES air intake, the energy packets looking much like the one fired from the Game Tanks in _Tron_ except bright blue-white instead of red. The chevron cannon is also intermecha linked as the controller for the Levia-blasts of the remotes. The fusion ball is meant to be a "final strike" weapon, built as a Blast Radius 10 missile mounted in the right arm. However, actually using it is more like Brolli from Dragon Ball throwing one of his green planetbuster ki-balls, with a bright, a BIG shimmering flare building around the mecha, then condensing into a ball in the palm of the hand and being "thrown" at the target. This would normally be a beam weapon, but A) being "thrown" it acts more like a missile, and B) a worthwhile beam weapon wouldn't fit. The pineapple is pretty much your typical timer-fused grenade, except that it literally looks like the friut kind of pineapple with a clock face on the side and a lampshade over the "leafy" end for stability in flight. (They are weight inefficient) The avatars are designed to look like a thirteen-stepped pyramid with a glowing eye at the top and a pair of m00sey antlers on the sides. The Levia-blasts are emitted from the glowing eye. They use the Fighter form, thus the doubled MA listed in parenthesis above. As you can see, they use the exact same sensor suite as the TCBMM itself, and the data recieved from those sensors is automatically fed to the TCBMM's data processors over the intermecha link even when the remotes are out of control range, as long as they are in communications range. The remotes' MV is -2, and they have 2000km worth of fuel. They look like a half-size version of the TCBMM's own head, floating along very quickly. They also have AI level 5 portfolio 2 (Mecha Piloting and Dodge & Evade) and are typically programmed so that three of them maintain an orbit at the edge of the TCBM's sensor range, extending it with their own, while the fourth zips ahead to map the terrain Mustard intends to pass through, or wants people to think he's going to pass through. The other commonly used drone program is to have all four go mapping, paying no attention to other units except to dodge any attacks, returning regularly to the TCBMM to update the main map. The drones will always try to dodge and/or escape any attacker. Thanks to the intermecha links, the drones sensors, like the remotes' sensors above, always dump their data to the TCBMM's systems as long as they are in communications range - the drones' commo range, that is. As you can see, finding the enemy is as big a goal as doing massive damage to him for the Tax Collectin' Boogie Machine Max. Of course, the problem is weight: anything more than .022 tons will put it into the next MV tax bracket, and a minimal MV is critical to a design that emphasises melee combat - the lag time on the code is going to be bad enough as it is. What, you don't think 20K, -40 SP, quick, hyper, crosslinked EMWs is a melee combat emphasis? How about the big ranged-only enclosing shield, then? The TCBMM avatar has been modified somewhat from the normal Big Mean Boogie Macine look, the maroon areas becoming black and the dark blue sections bright silver, like the axes. Overall, it's a little less rounded, with edges instead of smooth curves. The "helmet" has also gained an RX-78 Gundam style "fin" and V ornament, also in silver. merryhwd@sover.net -- _____________ ___ ___ _____________ \_________ \ \ \__/ / / _________/ turned into living crystal like I'm \______ \__~o\/o~__/ ______/ frozen lichen, but more fuzzy, in a the \_________\ /_________/ terrible accident involving sour cream winged A A R D || V A R K and salsa pork rinds.
